In February 2014, it sold its Light Reading division, a provider of research-led online communities and events focused on the global communications industry, to one of its original founders, Stephen Saunders. Lightreading.com is a source of telecom analysis for more than 350,000 subscribers each month. Light Reading also produces targeted communications events and focused one-day conferences each year for cable, mobile, and wireline executives across five continents. UBM remains a minority investor in the business. A Seward & Kissel team led by counsel Nick Katsanos, partners James Abbott and James Cofer, and associates Robert Wood and Denise Mazzeo represented UBM in this transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
