Seward & Kissel Named “Best Advisory Firm – Regulation and Compliance” by HFM

The First-Ever Law Firm Recognized in this Category of the HFM US Services Awards

NEW YORK—September 17, 2020—Seward & Kissel has been named the “Best Advisory Firm – Regulation and Compliance” in the HFM US Services Awards 2020. The firm is the first-ever law firm to be recognized in this category.

The HFM US Services Awards recognize providers of services and solutions to the hedge fund industry that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, customer service and business performance over the last year. HFM presented the award virtually on September 16 at the annual US award ceremony.

“We are honored to be recognized as the Best Advisory Firm for Regulation and Compliance within the investment management industry. We regularly advise our hedge fund clients on the often-burdensome task of regulatory compliance, and this award is a testament to our continued dedication to providing clients premier legal and regulatory advice,” said Patricia Poglinco and Robert B. Van Grover, co-heads of the Investment Management Group.

In addition to providing ongoing regulatory and compliance advice to clients, Seward & Kissel also offers compliance consulting through Seward & Kissel Regulatory Compliance (SKRC), which was introduced in 2017 as investment managers were increasingly seeking cost-effective solutions to their regulatory requirements. SKRC advises clients on a broad range of compliance services such as outsourced compliance support, registration, preparation of regulatory examinations, mock audits and much more.

“Our unique perspective that combines both our legal and in-house compliance expertise offers private fund managers a one-stop shop alternative for their legal and regulatory compliance needs. The firm’s 75+ year tenure in the industry and HFM’s recognition highlight that we are well positioned to provide private fund managers with another approach to regulatory compliance,” added David Tang, counsel in the Investment Management Group who heads up SKRC.
