M&A – Sale of AlphaSimplex Group to Natixis

Represented registered investment advisor AlphaSimplex Group and its founder Dr. Andrew W. Lo in connection with its sale to Natixis Global Asset Management.

AlphaSimplex Group is an SEC-registered investment advisory firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts specializing in quantitative global macro and global tactical asset allocation strategies, beta-replication products, and absolute-return risk analytics. The firm was founded in 1999 by Dr. Andrew W. Lo, a Professor of Finance at the MIT School of Management. In October 2007, AlphaSimplex was acquired by Natixis Global Asset Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Natixis SA (Paris SE: CNAT). A Seward & Kissel team led by partners Craig Sklar, Patricia Poglinco, and James Abbott represented AlphaSimplex Group in this transaction. Terms of this transaction were not disclosed.
