Acquisition of Guggenheim Global Trading by Deimos Asset Management, including private equity investment in Deimos by Ares Management, L.P. and strategic investment by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan

Deimos Asset Management is a New York-based, SEC registered multi-manager global hedge fund management company. Deimos was organized by the management team of Guggenheim Global Trading, LLC (“GGT”) to acquire the business of GGT from its parent, Guggenheim Partners. Deimos is led by Patrick Hughes and Loren Katzovitz, former co-heads of GGT, and Mark Standish, a former Group Executive of Royal Bank of Canada and Co-CEO of RBC Capital Markets. In connection with the transaction, Deimos received a private equity investment from Ares Management, L.P. (NYSE:ARES), a leading global alternative asset manager with approximately $86 billion of assets under management and more than 15 offices in the United States, Europe and Asia. Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (“Teachers”), Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan with over $140 billion of assets under management, is an anchor investor on the Deimos platform.
