Jim Abbott, Seward & Kissel LLP partner and co-head of its Business Transactions Group, will receive the 2019 M&A Advisor Leadership Award. The annual award honors industry leaders for their significant contributions to the mergers and acquisitions and finance industries. Mr. Abbott will be honored with the award – and inducted into the M&A Advisor Hall of Fame – at an awards gala on November 19th in New York.

Mr. Abbott has more than 35 years of experience in global M&A and finance. He joined Seward & Kissel almost 13 years ago, where he became a leading M&A lawyer in both the shipping industry and the investment management industry, actively consolidating sectors in which Seward & Kissel routinely handles many of the most noteworthy deals. Mr. Abbott also regularly works on media and technology industry transactions and negotiated M&A and private equity transactions in many other industries. He was recently named an M&A Trailblazer by The National Law Journal and is highly rated by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, New York SuperLawyers and Martindale-Hubbell.
