As head of Seward & Kissel’s Global Bank and Institutional Finance and Restructuring Practice Group, Kal represents numerous domestic and international banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, investors, trustees, servicers, and other institutions in all types of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Over his career, Kal has focused primarily in the areas of structured finance, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions, asset-based lending, supply chain and trade financing, among other areas. More recently, Kal has expanded into fintech, spearheading over two dozen deals for Community Investment Management, the first impact investment firm to fund fintech solutions for underserved communities.
