Kal Das, partner and head of the Global Bank and Institutional Finance & Restructuring Practice Group at Seward & Kissel LLP, has been named to Law360’s Banking Editorial Advisory Board for the second consecutive year. Kal is one of 11 lawyers selected to the 2022 board. The editorial advisory board provides feedback on Law360’s coverage and expert insight on how best to shape future coverage.

At Seward & Kissel, Kal represents many of the world’s largest banks, as well as private equity firms, hedge funds, investors, trustees, servicers, and other institutions in all types of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Over his career, Kal has focused his work in the areas of structured finance, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions, asset-based lending, supply chain and trade financing, among other areas.

More recently, Kal has expanded into fintech, working on numerous transactions for UMB, Community Investment Management, an impact investor for underserved communities, and many other institutions. In 2021, Kal graduated from Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program, among 160+ CEOs from companies from around the world and was nominated to be the class graduation speaker.
