On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, the Women’s Initiative at Seward & Kissel LLP partnered with SOSV, a global venture capital firm, to host an event titled “Investing in the Future of Food Tech.”

The first panel, “Food as Medicine & Sustainability”, was moderated by Terry Romero, a Program Manager of Food-X, and featured three female entrepreneurs discussing their entrepreneurial ventures in the food and sustainability industries. The panelists were Kara Laudau, CEO & Head Dietitian at Uplift, Amanda Weeks, Co-Founder & CEO of Industrial Organic, and Stephanie Roland, CEO & Co-Founder of SAANA.

The second panel, “How to Navigate Food Investments in the Future of Food Tech: Angel, Seed, Series A & Growth” was moderated by Peter Bodenheimer, a Partner & Managing Director of Food-X, and featured three female investors at various private funds discussing the best ways that women and minority entrepreneurs can seek investment in their ventures. The panelists were Amy Jurkowitz, Co-Founder of Bread Ventures, Avantika Daing, Head of Venture Investments at Plum Alley and Delphine Deschamps, Managing Director of CREADEV USA.
