Seward & Kissel Continues Expanding Securities Capabilities with Addition of Adriana Schwartz and Hannah Thibideau

April 14, 2026

Seward & Kissel LLP today announced that Adriana Schwartz and Hannah Thibideau have joined the firm as partners in its New York office, enhancing the firm’s securities, regulatory, and enforcement offerings.

Schwartz joins the firm’s Investment Management group, where her practice focuses on securities law regulatory and compliance and trading issues for passive and activist investors, including Section 13(d) and Section 16 compliance and reporting issues. She also represents clients in private investments in public and private companies, including private investments in public equity (PIPEs), registered direct offerings, convertible 144A offerings, special‑purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), and Regulation S offerings.

Thibideau joins the firm’s Litigation & Investigations group, focusing on regulatory enforcement and white-collar criminal defense in investigations brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, FINRA, and other regulators. She also advises a wide array of clients, including registered investment advisers and private funds, on anti‑money laundering, foreign corrupt practices, and sanctions compliance and risk management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adriana and Hannah to our Firm,” said Daniel Bresler, managing partner of Seward & Kissel. “Their arrival reflects our continued momentum and commitment to providing comprehensive capabilities to serve our clients’ needs. With their combined experience across capital markets and regulatory enforcement, Adriana and Hannah significantly deepen our ability to offer integrated, real‑world solutions.”

“Seward & Kissel has a well‑earned reputation for its investment management and securities offerings,” said Schwartz. “I’m excited to join a firm that understands how capital markets activity, regulatory compliance, and enforcement risk increasingly intersect for clients, and that is structured to address those challenges in a coordinated, practical way.”

Schwartz and Thibideau are the latest partners to join Seward & Kissel from Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP (now McDermott Will & Schulte). Their arrivals follow Craig Warkol, who joined the firm in March as chair of its Litigation & Investigations group, and Randall Adams and Mark Garibyan, who joined in the second half of 2025. Together, the group brings experience spanning SEC examinations, DOJ investigations, and capital markets activity. They deepen Seward & Kissel’s ability to advise clients through the full regulatory lifecycle—from structuring transactions and complying with securities rules to managing examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions.

“I am thrilled to be working again with Adriana and Hannah,” said Warkol, chair of the Litigation & Investigations group. “We are exceptionally well positioned to advise clients at the intersection of capital markets activity and regulatory enforcement. This depth allows us to help clients anticipate issues earlier, navigate examinations and investigations more efficiently, and reduce disruption when scrutiny arises.”

Schwartz received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester. Thibideau received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Hunter College.

The group’s arrival at Seward & Kissel builds on the firm’s strong start to 2026, marked by the additions of Investment Management Partner Jack Habert, as well as John Benson and Christopher Belisle to co-lead the firm’s Maritime Finance practice, and a transformative 2025 that included the arrival of eight lateral partners across key practice areas.
