Seward & Kissel nominates Human Rights First for IBA’s award highlighting frontline aid organizations

November 30, 2021

The International Bar Association (IBA) and the IBA Foundation (the Foundation) have announced the final four charities to receive financial assistance from the funding program set up by the IBA and the Foundation, at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, to support frontline legal aid providers around the world.

As part of these awards, Seward & Kissel nominated Human Rights First, an independent advocacy and action organization that challenges America to live up to its ideals by pressing the country’s government and private companies to respect human rights and the rule of law. S&K partner Jack Yoskowitz commented, “we have worked with Human Rights First on a number of asylum cases and they have been extremely helpful and a fantastic resource. They are a wonderful organization that definitely deserves any support they can receive and so we were so pleased the IBA awarded them a grant.”

In addition to Human Rights First, the other charities that received awards include: Friendship NGO, The Legal Aid Project of the Uganda Law Society, Human Rights First and Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance (MIRA).
