Biography
Erin Galipeau is special counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Investment Management Group, where she advises investment advisers, fund sponsors, and broker-dealers on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters.
Drawing on her extensive prior experience with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), Erin provides practical, informed guidance on regulatory risk management, compliance program design, and examination preparedness. She regularly counsels clients on developing and enhancing compliance policies and procedures, managing regulatory filings, and navigating regulatory examinations. She also helps clients navigate both domestic and cross-border challenges, delivering thoughtful, practical solutions tailored to their business objectives.
Before joining the firm, Erin spent 18 years at the SEC, including in the Division of Examinations, where she conducted examinations of investment advisers and investment companies, and in the Office of Chief Counsel in the Division of Trading and Markets, where she focused on broker-dealer regulation and registration issues and crowdfunding initiatives. She also served as Vice President, Senior Counsel at the Managed Funds Association and as an associate in the asset management group of a global law firm.
