Sagar Patel is a partner in the Global Banking and Corporate Trust Group.

Sagar has extensive experience representing administrative agents, collateral agents, trustees and collateral administrators, as well as other service providers, in various complex financing and restructuring transactions, including facilities with multi-tier debt structures and collateralized loan obligations. He also represents clients in their roles as servicers and control parties in fiber network and whole business securitizations.

Sagar represents clients in a wide variety of transactions, ranging from secured and unsecured loan facilities to asset-backed securitizations, structured finance and project finance. He is experienced in warehousing transactions, refinancings and optional redemptions involving collateralized loan obligations. He also has represented banks and other financial institutions in par and distressed secondary market transactions.

Sagar advises clients in the bankruptcy and restructuring of borrowers, issuers and other transaction parties, including with respect to consent solicitations and exchange and tender offers. He has substantial experience advising trustees in the liquidation of collateral in debt facilities in default scenarios, investor-directed actions and exercise of remedies.

In addition to his transactional work, Sagar maintains a pro bono practice through which he has represented low-income individuals in immigration court. In each election cycle, he also volunteers with a non-partisan, national call center dedicated to ensuring that all citizens can exercise their right to vote.

He received a B.A. from Rutgers University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
