Litigation & Investigations partner Brian Maloney has been quoted in a Lloyd’s List article titled, “US Lawmakers Pass New Iran Sanctions Bill.”

The article focuses on a bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives on Saturday that calls for the imposition of sanctions on ports, vessels, shipping companies and refineries. The bill will likely be signed into law this week.

“When sanctions are codified by legislation, they gain a measure of permanence that cannot as easily be changed by executive order, for example, if there were a change in policy in a new administration,” Brian stated.
