Amanda K. Brown is special counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Maritime and Transportation Group. She focuses her work on complex ship finance transactions and joint venture arrangements relating to the maritime industry.
Amanda has represented and advised banks, financial institutions, private equity funds, and major shipping companies in all aspects of ship financings throughout her career. Her work has included drafting and negotiating credit agreements, vessel mortgages, and other ship finance transaction documents.
In addition to leading many domestic and cross-border ship finance transactions, Amanda has regularly represented members and shareholders in connection with joint venture arrangements formed for the purpose of investing in maritime assets.
Amanda began her career at Seward & Kissel, where she was as an associate from 2006 to 2014. She later served as a senior associate and counsel in the New York office of an Am Law 100 law firm, focusing on maritime finance matters. Most recently, Amanda served as senior counsel at the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
