Biography
Beth H. Alter is Counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Litigation & Investigations Group.
Beth helps clients achieve success in their intellectual property matters. She assists clients to effectively and efficiently protect and commercialize their intellectual property and obtain the rights they need in the intellectual property of others. With many years in the field, Beth understands the challenges faced by clients needing intellectual property assistance and provides practical, business-oriented advice.
Beth counsels clients with respect to a wide range of intellectual property issues, including global trademark strategy and enforcement, copyright and unfair competition matters, structuring IP transactions, and IP licensing. She negotiates trademark, software, content and other IP agreements, conducts due diligence on copyright, domain name and trademark assets in connection with mergers and acquisitions, asset sales and other transactions, and represents clients in cease and desist and other adversarial matters.
Beth has advised clients in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, apparel, hotels, food, pharmaceuticals, packaging, software, and news and entertainment.
