Jacob Comer is a partner in the Investment Management Group.

Jacob advises a diverse range of venture capital, growth equity, niche strategy, and specialist fund managers, domestic and foreign, from emerging managers to established complexes. He advises clients on the formation, structuring, and operation of private investment vehicles of all types, and on all stages of capital raising, strategic transactions, seed and anchor capital arrangements, co-investment matters, general partner and upper-tier structuring, carried interest and incentive mechanisms, business expansion, succession planning, regulatory compliance, and other core business and operational needs. He also advises clients on secondary transactions, continuation vehicles, and sophisticated post-IPO hedging and related strategies.

Jacob advises emerging growth companies – both venture-backed and those seeking venture backing – on the full lifecycle from pre-seed investment through strategic or public market exits. He counsels clients on structure, governance, fundraising, transactional, business expansion, and general corporate matters.

Jacob brings significant investment and operational expertise borne of more than a decade of experience as a senior executive at multibillion-dollar private equity and venture capital firms, providing pragmatic, risk-aware strategic and tactical advice through both a legal and business lens.
