Rhona J. Kisch is Head of the Real Estate Practice Group and a partner in the Corporate Group at Seward & Kissel LLP. Her practice spans the full spectrum of real estate matters, including acquisition, disposition, financing, joint venture, and restructuring. She represents a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, alternative lenders, institutional owners, private developers, investors, and fiduciaries. In addition to core real estate matters, Rhona regularly advises clients on complex, multidisciplinary issues combining her experience in real estate together with corporate, bankruptcy, fiduciary, communications, and environmental law.

Rhona’s real estate finance work includes representing lenders and owners in acquisition, development, capital improvement, and warehouse financings, as well as mortgage note purchase and sale, 363 sale, forbearance, and restructuring transactions. Her experience spans all major property types, including office, hotel, retail, multifamily, and industrial assets. She counsels clients on structuring transactions involving REIT, environmental, and corporate issues. Additionally, she works on syndications, private equity investments, and green building initiatives matters.

Rhona is a frequent speaker on real estate topics, including finance, deeds in lieu, guarantees, and environmental issues. She has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works regarding the Superfund Program and before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce on RCRA Industrial D Waste issues. She has been recognized by Lawdragon in its 2024 and 2025 500 Leading Global Real Estate Lawyers guides.
