Steven Starr is counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Corporate Finance Group. He has practiced at the Firm since 2015, and previously was an associate in the corporate finance group of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.

Steven has extensive experience representing borrowers and lenders in secured and unsecured credit facilities. He regularly represents both borrowers and lenders in subscription credit facilities secured by the unfunded capital commitments of the fund’s constituent partners, as well as credit facilities secured by fund investments and credit facilities for 40 Act funds. He frequently works on cross-border deals, including capital call facilities with non-U.S. funds (Luxembourg, U.K., Cayman Islands, etc.) and the U.S. components of U.K and other non-U.S. financings. Steven also regularly represents clients in connection with receivables purchase facilities, including those related to mobile device installment contract receivables. He has also recently advised clients in connection with conventional leveraged finance credit facilities for operating companies, marketplace lending facilities, merchant cash advance facilities, consumer and student loan financings, and margin loans.

Steven received a B.A. from Yale University, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
