Business Transactions partners Gary Anderson and Nick Katsanos have published an article for the latest edition of Mergers & Acquisitions, titled “The Rise of Independent Sponsors in Middle-Market M&A.” This particular edition also highlights the publication’s 2025 Mid-Market Deals of the Year.

In the article, Anderson and Katsanos discuss the emergence of the independent sponsor model in middle-market M&A. They highlight changes in the investment landscape that have contributed to this shift as well as what factors investors should keep in mind when considering this model.

Katsanos is also featured in the publication’s Q&A focus, which poses a variety of questions regarding the future of dealmaking to a group of senior professionals with extensive experience in the industry.
